Three surfaces
VendorCAD has three surfaces. Do not collapse them.
| Surface | Who it is for | Job | Public URL |
|---|---|---|---|
| Website | Prospects | Explain, sell, capture demos | vendorcad.com |
| App | Manufacturer team | Build and operate configurators | app.vendorcad.com/app |
| Published configurator | Buyers, dealers, sales | Configure, preview, request a quote | /configure/*, /share/*, embeds |
Why the split matters
The App is the product: CAD connection, parameters, rules, builder, outputs, publish, quotes, users. The published configurator is what their customers use. The website sells the system.
Do not mix chrome
Manufacturer setup never appears on published buyer routes. Buyer configure never appears as if it were the whole SaaS.
How they connect
- Marketing or a sales call sends someone to the website or a demo launch.
- Your team works in the App to define the family and publish a version.
- The published link is what a buyer or dealer opens mid-call.
- Quote requests and exports land back in the App inbox.
This documentation site is a fourth docs host (docs.vendorcad.com). It explains the App. It is not a fourth product surface.
Demo tenant
The interactive demo is the same application with seeded data. Destructive actions are restricted; a Demo badge may appear. Integrations stay limited. You still walk the real /app/* routes.
